“HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM”

The
PG department of Library and Information Science has organized one day seminar
on “Health Information System”. There are 120 participants are participated in
this seminar held on 26th feb,2016 in SCS
hall.
The programme was started with
lighting the lamp welcome address was given by Ms.Mercy Lydia, Asst Professor,
PG department of Library and Information Science. The resource persons were
Mr.S.Senthil Kumar and Dr.JoysonSoundrarajan. The seminar was presided over by
our principal Dr.D.Kamala Veni, Vellalar College for Woman and gave her
presidential address.Mrs.S.Prabhavathi, principal,Vellalar College of Nursing
offered her felicitations. The keynote address was given by Mr.T.Stephen, Asst
professor and head,PG department of Library and Information Science and has
introduced the resource persons. The special address was given by the resource
person Dr.JoysonSoundrarajanand also Vanessa 2016 prices were distributed by the
principal and resource persons. The inaugural function was ended with vote of
thanks by G.M.Abinaya,II-M.L.I.Sc.
During morning session Mr.S.Sethil
Kumar explained about the importance and components of Health Information
System and session II was continued by Dr.Joyson Soundrarajan he demonstrated
the medical database PUBMED and its feature in detail.
During the afternoon session was
started at 2.00PM Dr.Joyson Soundrarajan explained online Health Inforrmation
Resources and cinhal search techniques-2 strategies and IndMED, session-III was followed by
Mr.S.Senthil Kumar he explained about connecting sources with users.
The
valedictory function was held at 3.00 PM on the same day which began with
welcome address by P.Indhu,I-M.L.I.Sc. Thevaledictory Address certificates was
distributed by Dr.N.Margatham, controller of examination, Vellalar College for
Woman. The seminar report was presented by Ms.MercyLydia,PGDLIS .Mrs.Gesty,
Vice Principal, Vellalar College of Nursing offered her felicitations. Thus the
programme was ended with vote of thanks by D.Keerthika,I-M.L.I.Sc.
