Report on One-Day Workshop
“Art of Measuring”
(Bibliometrics, Scientometrics and Webometrics)

One
day workshop on “Arts of Measuring” (Bibliometrics, scientometrics and
webometrics) was conducted for I and II M.L.I.Sc students on 22.1.2016 by PG
department of Library and Information Science.
The
Programme on “Art of Measuring” was held in Zoology Digital Laboratory. The inauguration
started with prayer at 10.00AM, followed by welcome address Pavithra, II-
M.L.I.Sc. The inaugural address was given by Mr.T.Stephen Assistantprofessor,
Head of the Department,PG Department of Library and Information
Science.Ms.Mercy Lydia Assistant Professor,PG Department of Library and
Information Science was introduced the resource persons. The resource persons
are Dr.B.Jeyaprakash and Mr.C.Ranganathan AssistantProfessors, Department of
Library and Information Science, BharathiyarUniversity, Tiruchirapalli.
During
morning session Mr.C.Ranaganathanhas given hands on experience.He explained
about various metrics and uses of Bibliometrics, scientometrics and
webometrics.During the afternoon session Dr.B.Jeyaprakash explained about tools
and applications of Bibliometrics, scientometrics and webometrics.
The
valedictory function was held at 3.00PM on the same day.Our Principal Dr.D.Kamalaveni
gave the valedictory address and encouraged the students and also distributed
the certificates to all the participants. Thus the one day workshop was very
useful for all the students. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Enitha,II-M.L.I.Sc.
